Is Website Promotion A Monkey On Your Back?
Do you ever feel like that? You work your fingers to the bone, posting away to forums and blogs, just to end up with nothing in the end but agony and frustration?
Will you get traffic from posting to forums? Maybe. Blogs? Probably some. But, remember, activities like this have to be done on a massive scale to make them work.
Take what I’m doing now for instance. I enjoy writing. I’ve been writing on and off (mainly “off”) since I was five years old. I haven’t done it regularly like this in many, many years.
Will I write articles forever online? No. But I don’t mind doing it for awhile. It’s fun. Be careful about taking the word “fun” out of your vocabulary. You may die many years before you actually do someday. Think about what that means.
I don’t mean it literally. What I mean is if you feel like a drone sometimes, you need to be awakened. To really feel alive. Deep within you, passion is boiling like a dormant volcano getting ready to explode. Find it. If you want to remove your shoes and socks and walk across hot coals now, go to a Tony Robbins seminar. The preaching is over. I hope I got my point across, though.
Back in the 70’s, I remember looking at this old box of stuff in our basement. I was probably eight years old at the time. Maybe closer to ten. I’m searching through the odds and ends in this box and come across these books I’d written. They were more like pamphlets with stick figure drawings and words. And captions, too.
I was a big fan of the TV show “The Monkees” when I was a kid. Micky Dolenz, Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork, and Davy Jones. Have you heard of them? I know, I’m dating myself now. So you don’t have to pull out a calculator, I’ll just go ahead and tell you that I’m 43 years old.
The pen name I used was Micky Dolenz.
So, yes, I was an author at the age of five years old. True story. The books were never actually published anywhere, but in any event, I was writing creatively. That was 37 years ago. And now here I am, all these years later. Still writing.
I tried to get into article marketing a few times over the years, but things never really came together. The last few years I’ve found that my level of focus with home-based income programs has improved dramatically. I’m just at a different place in my life now. Have even more life experience, so to speak.
So I enjoy doing it. Would I rather be sipping a Pina Colada on a beach in the Caribbean right now with twenty million dollars in the bank? No, that would be just awful.
Of course I would! Who wouldn’t? But to get there, you have to build the business first. My point is whatever you do, try to enjoy it, even though it’ll probably involve some type of work.
In all those comic t shirts cape town great years with the Packers, I’ll bet there were times when Brett Favre said to himself, “Jesus, I really don’t feel like putting this helmet on right now. I just want to have a beer and take a nap for a couple hours.”
Just do something you’re passionate about. If you feel like you’re being tortured, almost as if you’re about to be sucked into the computer at comic t shirts cape town times and thrashed around inside of it like a wet shirt in a dryer, then I hate to say it – you’re probably miserable. And, most likely, you won’t stick with what you’re doing. The trick is that whatever you do, pace yourself. And do something that’s enjoyable. Fun. Have some passion for it.
One of the greatest opportunities online nowadays I believe is video marketing. Back in 1995 when I first got involved in online income programs, we didn’t have stuff like that. Entrepreneurs back then didn’t know what the word “Youtube” meant.
There’s a lot of exciting things happening right now on the Internet. The income potential is there. Find something that gets you excited. And make it happen for yourself.
